Roll Call Vote Archives — 2006 Voting Records

Efforts to contain cloning and embryonic stem cell research were the key issues in 2006. In the Senate, MDRTL supported SB160, the Human Cloning Prohibition Act of 2006, which died in the Senate Education, Health & Environmental Affairs (EHE) Committee on a 5–6 vote. MDRTL opposed SB144, the Stem Cell Research Act of 2006, which passed EHE committee on a 6–5 vote. A pro-life effort to stop the bill by filibuster failed and the bill ultimately passed both Houses and was adopted.
